Evaluation

Psychiatric Evaluation

A psychiatric evaluation is the process necessary to determine a diagnosis and/or course of treatment.  There are many areas that are covered during the evaluation including:

I

A complete psychiatric history

I

Reason for seeking care at this time (why now?)

I

An inquiry about your current social circumstances, family relationships, current and past use of alcohol and drugs, and your past treatment history (current and past diagnoses, and use of prescribed medication).

I

Your culture and ethnicity - (cultural values can influence the way a person and their family communicates psychological distress and responds to a diagnosis of mental illness).

I

Lastly, the practitioner may need to gather collateral information about your past medical history to develop an individualized treatment plan to help with your overall needs.

Medication Assessment & Management

We provide medication assessment and management services as part of a comprehensive treatment plan.

Antidepressants, anti-anxiety medication, mood stabilizers, and ADHD medications are key treatment for battling depression, anxiety, mood disorders and ADHD. We provide medication assessment and management services as part of a comprehensive treatment plan. We also offer Genesight Testing for individuals who have been unsuccessful with previous medication trials.

We understand that everyone is different, and your physician or nurse practitioner will work with you to create a holistic treatment plan that may include a combination of medication and psychotherapy.  We don’t push medications and will inform and educate you about any benefits and risks associated with medications we prescribe.   Your provider can choose from a variety of medications that act on different neurotransmitters to regulate mood or increase electrical flow among brain circuits.  We will walk through your medication options with you.

It is always important to schedule follow-up appointments and discuss your symptoms, any side effects, and how you feel about your medication. We want to ensure that you are taking the right medication, with the right dosage, at the right time of day for your specific needs and to help you achieve optimal results.

For convenience, we offer telepsychiatry appointments, where you can work with your clinician from the convenience of your own home. If you have serious or severe side effects, you’ll want to reach out to your clinician. They will give you directions on next steps. If you have a life-threatening reaction to the medication, seek emergency medical attention.

Treatment

Addiction Treatment

Addiction treatment is multifaceted, thus requires comprehensive interventions to assist on the road to recovery…
We provide Vivitrol and Office and Home Based Suboxone Detox Treatment, which is only one part of treatment.
A thorough assessment of the patient’s addiction will determine treatment intervention.

Treatment

Psychotherapy

We have licensed practitioners that can provide therapy on a regular basis if determined that this is required through your assessment. You may already have a therapist, and that will in no way interfere with the care received through our practice. You are in no way obligated to see our therapists, and this is always your decision, based on your needs.

Treatment

Telepsychiatry

We are pleased to announce that we provide tele-psychiatry. This can be provided on an individual basis as determined by your practitioner. We utilize a HIPPA approved behavioral health platform

Genesight Testing

Pharmacogenetic Testing

Individualized Care is Provided to Our Patients.  If you have tried medication for Depression and it has not worked Genesight Testing may be the Answer.  GeneSight Psychotropic is a pharmacogenomic test which means that it analyzes how your genes may affect medication outcomes. The GeneSight test analyzes clinically important genetic variations in your DNA. Results can inform your provider about how you may break down or respond to certain medications commonly prescribed to treat depression, anxiety, ADHD, and other psychiatric conditions.
